Why do we do it?

The IPCC, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the United Nations body responsible for producing scientific information on this topic, notes that human action is the main cause of global warming. Some of these human actions are: the burning of fossil fuels, increased deforestation and fires, emission of polluting gases into the atmosphere and pollution of water resources, which directly alter the dynamics of the global ecosystem, actions that consequently result in current environmental imbalances, as well as its consequences on human life
According to the IPCC (2022), global temperatures will increase by more than 3°C by the end of the 21st century if climate change is not addressed urgently, which will have increasingly complicated consequences for the entire world population, especially for the population living in a state of vulnerability. For these and other reasons, it is extremely important that it is increasingly discussed and placed on the agenda, a mission that Descomplicando Clima seeks to achieve by bringing: educational content, publicizing opportunities and events, news, and studies
How do we do it?
We have created a timeline to better explain the history of climate change. All the content of this timeline is found in the database within the website, so we offer historical content about climate change, in Portuguese, for all ages
We have a content creation team focused on climate change and various areas of life, aiming to bring knowledge about this important topic and its many intersections
Mobilization
Descomplicando Clima also works on the practical training of young people through its volunteer program, which offers training and support for volunteers to develop local projects to tackle the climate crisis
